Stupid Radio Commercials II

Books are great. I love books. I bought three today. They are great.

Radio is also enjoyable. I like radio, it entertains me. But they should not mix as they do.

I'm talking about radio commercials for books. I would have had a link there, but sadly Youtube does not seem to carry the star-studded commercials for I, ALEX CROSS BY JAMES PATTERSON series. I put that in caps because it's REALLY SERIOUS.

If my memory serves, the commercial goes something like this.

---
"I, ALEX CROSS, VOW TO NOT LET YOU GET MY FAMILY"

"Alex Cross is back."

"I, ALEX CROSS, VOW TO HUNT YOU DOWN, UNTIL YOU ROT IN JAIL, OR THE GROUND"

"Alex Cross is very very angry."

"I, ALEX CROSS, AM VERY ANGRY"

"He is so angry."

"I, ALEX CROSS, WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN"

"Order the book now!"
---

Now, one of the cool things about books is that when you read them, you can choose yourself how (not) annoying the characters are. But if you just give me an annoying commercial, my pre-excitement for I, ALEX CROSS, BY JAMES PATTERSON is somewhat dulled.

I'm sure the book is... good. Probably. Most books are. But these commercials are really annoying me. It's a book. It's not a crappy thriller movie. Can we draw a line there? Please?

  1. Hey there. I'm just a random guy who happened to have stumbled here.

I feel your pain about this specific radio commercial. But there is one that is much worse than this one. I should know, as I heard this radio back in early December 2008. And guess what? IT'S ANOTHER ALEX CROSS COMMERCIAL!
In fact, this is the commercial that advertised Cross Country, the predocessor of I. Alex Cross.

Okay, so in this commercial, the announcer was all scary sounding, and some creepy music was playing in the background. And then he says something like, "And what's even worse, the murderer is probably after his family! *cue stock scream here*"

if you're curios as to what stock scream sound that is, you may have heard it in:
Angry Beavers(for example, in "Go, Beavers")
    the Madagascar 2 trailer
    the 101 Dalmations cartoon(1997)
Darkstalkers: Vampire Savior(get a MONSTER! combo to hear the scream)
    Toonsylvania(most prominant here)
    And maybe the Beetlejuice cartoon(?)

Speaking of Beetlejiuce, this scream reminds me of a character of the cartoon, named Claire Brewster. You know, that rich girl who hated Lydia. I think that this scream may have belonged to this character...

Yeah, so any responce to this post?
